better_changelog — Prototype Deployment In Progress

  • Adam reviewed repo analysis — SaaS changelog platform, multi-tenant, AI agent profiles
  • Competitive analysis done: 12 competitors researched, market gap identified (AI-native, developer-first)
  • Analysis saved to /root/clawd/changelog-competitors.md + pushed to Notion
  • Key finding: No tool generates changelogs from Git commits/PRs with AI. Beamer (leader) has zero AI.
  • Suggested pricing: Free → 49 → $149/mo

Deployment saga

  • Prepped repo: Render config, standalone build, stripped AI deps, env template, DEPLOY.md
  • Render needs Pro ($19/mo) for second project — skipped
  • Vercel free tier blocked by private org repo — created personal fork: Chaoticonomist/better_changelog
  • Vercel CVE-2025-66478 blocks Next.js 15.0.0-16.0.6 — bumped to 16.0.7 (exact patched version)
  • turbo.json updated with env vars (DATABASE_URL, CLERK_SECRET_KEY, PORT)
  • Adam set up Clerk + Neon (Postgres 17, AWS US East)
  • DB schema pushed (12 tables, all indexes/FK)
  • Clerk keys + Neon URL stored at /root/.changelog-env
  • Still deploying — last attempt pending with 16.0.7

  • Buffer was original plan but per-channel pricing doesn’t scale for multi-project strategy

  • No MCP needed — REST APIs work fine for any tool
